Challenge
Design, create and launch brand new service for the young people of County Durham centred on drug & alcohol issues
Solution
Launch of new service called 4Real – County Durham’s Young People’s Drug & Alcohol Service. The new service is aimed at providing real help and advice for young people within the area. The launch process included giving the service an identity, a new logo, presentation packs for launch event, management of the event and a new website, ready to launch March 2010 – www.4realcountydurham.co.uk

Create a brand and sub-brands for product range
Solution
Full branding created and implemented for the product range. hpmgroup also produced all of the stationary and promotional materials. A brand new website is also currently undergoing construction and we provide monthly marketing and strategy advice.
Challenge
To create a catalogue for Flymo and McCulloch products
Solution
Creation of an in brand catalogue following brand guidelines of a large organisation. The catalogue contains both Flymo and McCulloch products where the catalogue can be read in both directions with an equal split of both products.
McCulloch products were aimed at professionals and the trade whereby the Flymo products were targeted towards the home user.
Catalogue designed as a suitable size to sit in-store alongside products.
The information was designed in a way that it was usable and easy to understand yet portrayed a lifestyle feel.

Challenge
To produce a creative way of communicating to tenants about planned maintenance work
Solution
Production of an animated DVD to be delivered to all tenants regarding planned maintenance work. The DVD is flexible to work across all media formats including print and online. The animated DVD overcomes various audiences’ challenges including those with a disability or educational limitations. The animated characters were used in order to make the information more user-friendly for the occupant and take away some of the intimidation that tenants might feel when having strangers in their home. The DVD was also cost effective as it eliminated the need to use up studio and models time.
Challenge
Create a campaign aimed at encouraging students at Durham University to sign up to the National Organ Donor Register. The focus for the campaign was Oli (a friend of the University Chancellor Bill Bryson), a young man waiting for organ donation.
Solution
A logo was created in the style of a tattoo, to show the permanence of a lifelong commitment to the Register. In the press campaign, the wings of the logo were used on images of students going about their daily lives, to imply that these donors are “guardian angels”, willing to commit to helping others. The campaign was rolled out into posters, leaflets, t-shirts and a promotional video which runs on the dedicated website.
Challenge
Challenge the general public to change their perception towards public transport and to encourage increased usage of various forms of public transport.
Solution
The campaign "give it a go" was rolled out to the general public lowering barriers by encouraging small steps of change. Encourage people to "give it a go" for one day and gradually increase the usage of public transport. The campaign used real people in real locations across the North East ensuring the campaign was cost-effective.
The website was used as the hub of the campaign for offers, schemes and vouchers.
In addition, ad shells, bus backs and press advertising were produced alongside launch materials such as car stickers, leaflets and vouchers.
Challenge
Create and launch campaign brand to raise general awareness of the University’s involvement within the community, its economic regeneration and its support of local tourism.
Solution
hpmgroup created the “So Much More” campaign as a result of Durham University’s request. The campaign allowed hpmgroup to exert creative design influences over the Durham University brand. It is the first time the University has allowed any partner to create a campaign brand and deviate from the University’s core colour palette, yet still retaining the corporate identity of the University.
